Methods:
First, observations of nurses in addition to mother-baby dyads were conducted. Then, semi-structured interviews amongst those nurses were implemented to generate a structural nursing attention model for facilitating mother-infant bonding during the early on postpartum period. Finally, this model in addition to a literature review were synthesized. And in addition to thus the theory of the ICE model (F. Young) in addition to the Reflective approach model (G. Gibbs) were applied to pattern our educational programme. It was pilot-tested amongst x midwives at a nascency centre.
Results: Our educational programme comprises a web-based programme in addition to a illustration written report through reflection on clinical practice. The web-based programme has 3 next steps: Step 1, application of HUG Your Baby programme (J. Tedder) to heighten noesis in addition to skills nigh infants’ behaviours; Step2, construction of effective communication skills in addition to sustainable childrearing back upward to engage every bit an “Attacher”, who helps heighten mother-infant bonding and; Step 3, illustration studies for incorporation of acquired noesis in addition to skills into clinical practice. The procedure evaluation generated positive feedback regarding its course of instruction length, interestingness in addition to levels of difficulty.
Conclusion:
This comprehensive educational programme for nurses has the potential to contribute to facilitating nurses’ responsiveness to infants in addition to mother-infant bonding inward the early on postnatal period.
